First off, let me give a big thanks to Alex for your assistance and support of this project.
I received these back in February, but due to the excellent weather we were experiencing in West Virginia at the time, I was still in long johns mode. I finally got them on the range.

The main garment fabric is made of a blend of 95% MicroModal fiber and 5% Elestane. It is constructed from multi cut pieces with over stitched flattened seams.(see Photo 1) The waistband is a nice wide band attached to the top of the underwear fabric. It’s actually 1.75 inches in width. (I will have to modify my database field to accept decimals!) There is no Logo on outside of the band on the ones I received. It dose have a decorative design weaved into the band and small tag with their brand Icon. There are neat encouraging words on the inside of the band.(see Photo 1). The leg inseam is a stitched fold of the main fabric. The pouch is made of the same fabric and appears to be of one cut piece that is seam stitched up the middle to form the shape of the pouch. It is a 3D “U” shaped mold. Pouch is lined by a second layer of the same fabric. There is no fly or product tag. Product tag is imprinted or stamped on the inside of the underwear.

Initial Field Test
I have had these on the range multiple times now. So since I got started on the reviews late, I will include updated field test and review data in this initial post.
Took them on the range on 3/6/22. In the woodworking shop, wife and I loaded, transported and re stacked a trailer load of cedar lumber, running the tractor and grading the driveway. Was out hiking in the mountains digging ramps later in the day.
Additional days on the range:
- 3/7/22 – 10 hour day at work with 3 hour total commute travel. Was on and off heavy equipment all day
- 3/18/22- 10 hour day at work operating D6 and roller.
- 4/6/22- 10 hour day at work on excavator all day
- 4/30/22 10 hour day at work on excavator all day
- 5/16/22- 10 hour day at work on excavator all day
Review
Fabric score’s

The micromodal fabric is very soft on the skin. It’s very stretchy but still form fitting. It’s thin but not quit see thru. If stretched out you can vaguely see thru to the skin. (See photo 2). It breathes and wicks moisture very well. I felt no rubbing, pinching or pulling of body hair and no chafing. (See leg notes on bunching)
Update: They remain as soft and stretchy as when I took them out of the package. The material shows no sign of fading, pilling or ware. They are laundered after each wear. They are still holding their shape and I haven’t had any wedging.
Waistband Score’s

The waistband’s material is soft and smooth and feels nice to the skin, no little ridges to dig in. The width is a nice wide width so again it doesn’t dig into skin. The quality appears to be well made and doesn’t roll over when I bend over. It’s snug enough to keep it in place. No reach around and pull up maneuvers needed after standing up from bending over.
Update: The waistband continues to hold is form. No signs of ware, folding or wrinkling.
Leg Scores

The legs are very comfortable and the inseam at bottom holds well around the leg even though it has no additional banding material. It’s simply a stitched over fold of the main material. The inseam doesn’t cut into skin. The length is nice if your wanting more coverage than a trunk or briefs. I have not experienced any ride up with all the bending, movement or from being jostled around riding in equipment. Again the fabric didn’t pinch or pull the hairs on my legs. Note: There was a little wrinkling in the legs when wearing the size large but none with the size medium.
Pouch Scores

The pouch is a nice comfortable feature. (Wondering why this idea in underwear design took so long for mankind to come up with). The micromodal fabric is very soft on the guys. The pouch kept the guys well supported during all my physical activities throughout the day. Most important it kept them in place whilst being bounced around in my equipment seat. The pouch design lifts and holds the genitals forward and away from the body while standing and walking which in turn eliminated the uncomfortable rubbing of the genitals against the inner thighs when when walking a lot. I didn’t have to make any Michel Jackson crutch adjustment moves either. The pouch size could be just a tad larger. You will get a nice bulge effect with these, especially with no or loose fitting pants or shorts. (See Photo 3). There’s no fly access, but that’s not a big deal to me. You have to reach and pull back in some fashion to do your business anyway, rather it be a pull down from the top or pulling back a horizontal or vertical flap.
Oeverall Scores

As an overall score, these are a great pair of underwear. They are comfortable going from relaxing to very active physical task. The fabric and waistband combination is very comfortable. Even at the end of a long day you hardly notice you have them on. They appear to be well made and thus far, durable, even though I have only had each size on about 3 times at this point.
The list price is currently at $28.00 a pair. Now being an ole working country boy, I always think underwear over $10 a pair is expensive but sometimes one must consider ones comfort. So how affordable is it to stock your underwear drawer with these? I believe in having at least 10 pair on hand to rotate through. 1 pair a day to get through a week with 3 spares. At $28/pair x 10 pair would be a $280 one time hit or yearly cost if you phase them in. Krakatoa post a 52 wash a year Guarantee on their site, suggesting that a pair should last a year. (My wife does laundry once a week and at 52 weeks in a year…. Works for me). I suggest watching for sales or promotion codes to help the bottom line.

Krakatoa has a winner here. These boxer briefs are an excellent choice for a working man out there trying to make a living and being comfortable and support while do so. They also have styles in briefs, and trunks (sadly no jockstrap) and other color selections. I hope to get the other styles on the range in the future. Check em out! Krakatoa
I am not in a partnership, collaboration or affiliate program with Krakatoa at this time, but if in the future if am provide any links to promo or discount codes, I will pass them along to you.
Until next time, Always start the day out with a fresh clean pair and be comfortable and by all means safe out there!

That’s the most through review ever on a pair of underwear. I’m amazed with the dedication, time and depth of this article! Kudos!
