Well here is the “Method to My Madness”
The Process of this review blog consist of the following steps.
- Recording product information: As I receive each new product I record the basic information of each product such as, Brand, product name, type, cost, materials, etc.
- Recording and record Keeping:: I developed a database using Microsoft Access to record, organize and track my data.
- Scheduling product for wear: After I receive and record the product information, I then schedule the product in a wear rotation schedule.
- Each product is scheduled into the wear rotation once a week for field testing. It will remain in the weekly wear rotation schedule for at least 5 wears. As each product completes is rotation of filed testing, its slot in the wear schedule will be filled with the next product waiting in the queue. In the event there is no new product available in the queue to fill the empty schedule slot, then the empty slot in the schedule will be filled with a previously reviewed product to continue its evaluation as to its longevity. This re-scheduling will be in the same order as to when the products were originally placed in the queue.
- I use Google Calendar App to run my wear rotation for Field Testing.
- Field testing product: The product is then tested in field wear test according to the schedule rotation.
- The testing on the range is really simple. The product is worn on the day it is scheduled to evaluate its performance while engaging in whatever activities the day has in store. This will mostly be on the job running various pieces of heavy equipment but will also include : Travel, exercise, running, workouts, hiking in the mountains whilst hunting, fishing, gathering wild ginseng and mushrooms or working around the house, camp property, woodworking shop, other outdoor activities.
- After each wear the field test data is entered into the database system.
- Review results: After completion of the field testing, I compile the data and field testing notes and produce a written review of the product based upon the criteria listed on the Terms page.
Simple. Right!
A few notes: The wear schedule may change without notice due to things like extreme changes in weather for which i must adapt, or a product can’t continue on the wear schedule due to a failure in the product that renders it un-wearable.
