This is the Amplify Brief which features the Bespoke customizable pouch design. This one has the option P5-Bounce pouch. It is currently list for $19.00 and is in the color of Black Whisper.

The Amplify Brief is made from one type of fabric that is a blended material of:

• 95% Rayon
• 5% Elastane

This is a solid fabric that is very thin and is somewhat see-through. The brief is made from multiple pieces or section of this fabric with stitched seams.

• 1- piece (the back half) provides coverage of the rear and top of the hips to the sides.
• 2- pieces (front half) that provide coverage of the front pelvis and groin. These two pieces are used as the right and left half of the front piece. The halves are joined down the center of the front (pouch) with a stitched seam that runs from the waistband at the top, down to the bottom in the crotch below the pouch. Each pieces is joined to the rear piece on the top at the sides of the hip and in the bottom of the crotch. Over edge stitched seams are used at these junctions. The seam work also appears to have elastic strips sewn inside them.
• 1-piece of elastic banding that is 1.5 inches wide is use to make the waistband. The band is joined in the center rear with an end-to-end stitch to complete the loop on the waist. The “Mckillop” name is embroidered into the waistband. The product tag is sewn on the rear inside of the waistband.

Since this is a brief style, there are only leg openings. The leg openings are trimmed with a 0.25-inch wide fabric covered elastic banding for an inseam.

The shaped cut of the two half pieces used for the pouch in conjunction with the elastic center seam down the pouch and the elastic leg openings work together to form a very extreme outward 3D contoured shaped pouch. The P5-Bounce option. The pouch is not lined.

On the Range

The Amplify Brief has been out on the testing range 5-times with about 71 hours of wear. Most of the hours were at work running heavy equipment with some travel time. The brief has been through 5 laundry cycles.

The Scores

The rayon/elastane fabric is very smooth and soft. It’s very stretchy too scoring 1.5-inches on the stretch test. It accommodates lots of body movement. The thin fabric is very breathable and moisture wicking and feels light and sporty. The waistband is very comfortable too.

This is another slim fitting, minimal coverage style brief. Very form fitting with the built in elasticity. The wide low-rise waistband is a perfect fit with no problems of roll over or twisting. The custom pouch design (P5-Bounce) has functioned just as described by MCK. This design provides plenty of room for the genitals with no feeling of squeezing or pinching. The pouch is very supportive and keeps things separated from the legs as it lifts the genitals up and outwards. I find this feature is very effective when operating heavy equipment. In all the brief fits like a glove and in accordance with the size guide for a Large.

The brief has kept its out of the box shape with deformities other than a loose thread in the top stitch that secures the waistband to the fabric and a little pilling on the fabric in spots where I suppose the fabric rubs on the outer clothing.

The Amplify Brief is another bold design from McKillop that does indeed provide an amplifying wear and not just in the way you’re thinking. It does sport an extreme outward 3D contoured pouch which produces a “Amplified” bulge effect, but it also preforms nicely for every day wear on the job. Its wear and features should work well for hiking, running, workouts and more. I also enjoyed just hanging around the house or relaxing on the couch in these. Be warned though, with the nature of this pouch and the thin fabric, it might be a bit showy if company comes a calling (you may have to throw on some shorts). But if you’re home alone, then just be free!
