Rounderbum’s Lift Jockstrap

The lift jockstrap is the second underwear submitted by Rounderbum and is the first jockstrap to make it out on the testing range. As per their product description it is also one of their styles with the “Lift Tech” design.

Details

The Lift Jockstrap is made from a blended fabric of cotton (93%) and elastane (7%). It’s made from one piece of the fabric with multi stitching on edges an inseams on the sides. The fabric has a 2-way stretch.

The waistband is a nice wide elastic material at about 1 and 3/4 of an inch in width. The Rounderbum logo is embroidered within the material. The waistband is attached to the main body with multiple lines of loop over stitching. There is a small elastic band sewn in the inseam of pouch sides. (See figures 1,2,3&4)

The leg straps are a 1 inch wide elastic band. They are attached internally with multi stitching on the hip side of the waistband and at the bottom of the pouch. (Figures 5,6&7)

The pouch basically is the underwear (it’s a jockstrap). So as mentioned before, it’s constructed from on piece of the cotton/elastane fabric. The pouch is molded into it’s shape by the cut of the fabric, the small elastic strips in the sides of the pouch and a center stitched seam that run’s from the bottom of the pouch to half way up the center of the pouch, which gives it a “V” style and depth for a 3 dimensional shape and leans towards an anatomical shape too. The cut of the fabric is wide at the top which gives a full coverage of the groin area. The pouch is lined with a second layer of the same fabric. The is a soft woven product tag sewn to the inside of the waistband on left side of the pouch and Rounderbum’s label sewn on the inside back where the waistband is pieced together. It doesn’t appear to be removable unless you carefully cut it off (don’t do it).Figures 8,9

Out on the Range

I’ve had the Lift Jockstrap out on the range 4 times. Most at work and running equipment but Some working around the home and woodworking shop.

On tractor mowing after getting home. So they had more of a 14- hour work day. The cotton material not as breathable and moisture wicking as other materials. Was a little clinging by the end of the day. Still a comfortable jock most of the day

Review

Fabric

The fabric is soft and the blended in elastane gives it some stretchiness. It’s a thick fabric and it’s double layered so there is no see through. It feels like a very strong material. The cotton isn’t as breathable or moisture wicking as other fabrics . I noticed it getting sweat damp and a little sticky when the temperatures went above 80 at the end of that day, but I didn’t experience any chafing.

Due to it being a jockstrap there was no wedging and no bunching. It maintains its shape after a long day and I saw no stretching or sagging. It is form fitting. No sign of fading or dullness. I do notice a little pilling, but then it is cotton and I believe that is an inherent quality. Figure 11

Waistband

The waistband is very comfortable and soft. It’s a nice wide size and has enough elastic tension to keep it in place but doesn’t cut into the waist. It is of good quality material and stitching. So far no roll over or wrinkling problems.

Legs/straps

The leg straps are a nice comfortable width and the material is tightly woven so I felt on pinching of the skin or pulling of leg hair. They are nicely and securely sewn. They stayed in place. You can feel the “Lift Tech” lifting under the butt cheeks.

Pouch

The pouch for the most part is a nice comfortable pouch. It only looses points when the temps get hot. More wear’s in hotter temps will tell if chafing around the groin area will occur, so far it’s not been a problem. The size of the pouch is very nice with plenty of room. The cut of the fabric, added elastic in the sides and the center stitched in combination gives the pouch a nice supportive fit around the guys, but with enough stretch and room so as not to squeeze. The pouch provides nice separation of the genitals from the legs, so no skin to skin rubbing. It has a bulge but due to the deep 3D shape and a more Anatomic fit, the genitals hang more natural so the bulge effect isn’t too pronounced. The pouch is well constructed with nice smooth edge and seam stitching.

Overall

This jockstrap is nice and comfortable. The fabric, waistband, leg straps and pouch are a very good design and shape which provide great support and movability. I felt no rubbing or discomfort from any of the seams, waistband or straps. It performers very well in cool to warm temperatures. Currently priced at $15 bucks, so ain’t to bad. So using “the formula”, it would be a yearly cost of $150 to stock up your undie drawer with 10 of these jockstraps. That’s kinda affordable, and with the thick fabric and multi stitching in its construction, they should last. ( course we will keep them in the line up to see)

Range Qualification Award

The Run Down

I love the feel and support of a jockstrap whilst in the seat of my equipment. They are definitely a cooler option for the summer months that eliminate any problems of bunching or restrictions commonly encountered with boxers or boxer briefs. The Rounderbum’s design of the Lift Jockstrap is a great jockstrap for supporting and separating the guys from the legs during a busy work day. The stay in place and required no readjustments. I didn’t have any problems of the waistband or leg straps folding or twisting. The only problem is the breathability and moisture wicking not so great when the temps climb into the 80’s (cotton). If your in a cooler or air conditioned environment and you don’t mind the exposure of the jockstrap style, these are a very nice choice and they’re not highly priced either.

If you think that jockstraps are only for sports, we’ll your just wrong, and I know… “but they don’t cover much”, Well I thought the same at one time, but I don’t work or run equipment without my pants on and I was looking for something to keep the golden nuggets from playing slap happy with the seat when things got ruff, so I rediscovered them. Glad I did too. So come out of your comfort zone and try a pair. I would definitely recommend Rounderbum’s Lift Jockstrap as a great option under those work clothes. I hope they keep this line and expand the use of other fabrics in its design.
