This underwear comes to the testing range in boxer briefs style, tagged as large and in in the color black. It features and Anti-chaffing Glide Zone and a rear Cool Zone. Chill Boys uses a 95% Bamboo viscose and 5% spandex blended material as the main fabric. This is a light and thin material. There are two versions of this fabric:
- a solid weave that is the main coverage fabric.
- a micro mesh weave that is used in the “Glide” and “Cool” zones.
Its made from multiple pieces or sections of this material sewn together to form the shape and form.
- 1- piece of the solid fabric that makes up the main body and covers most of the rear and legs.
- 1- piece of the micro mesh fabric used as the “Cool Zone” in the upper rear that covers a small section in the small of the back.
- 1 piece of the micro mesh fabric that forms a gusset section that is used to complete the inner part of each leg and also attached to the bottom of the rear seat and bottom of the pouch section. This gusset is the “Anti-Chaffing Glide Zone”.
- 2- pieces of the solid fabric to form the pouch sections, so it is double layered with a traditional overlap fly access.
All the stitch work to combine the sections are a double stitch flat lock seam. It appears that there is a small strip of elastic band material sewn in all these seams.
The Waistband
The waistband is made from one piece of woven elastic band material that is 1.5 inches wide. The band is joined in the center rear with a multiple line of stitching in a end-to-end seam to complete the loop. The waistband is attached to the outer side of the underwear material with multiple lines of flat lock stitching. The “Chill Boys” name is embroidered in the band.
The Legs
The legs on this boxer brief are 7.5 inches in length. The inseams on the bottom are a stitched fold of the main fabric and is sewn with a flat lock stitch. A small strip of elastic band material is also sewn in this fold.
The Pouch
The Pouch is double layered with a traditional overlap style fly access. The pouch does differ from the traditional shape, as Chill Boys gave it a 3D contour shape. It also includes an over edge stitch that is sewn in the center of the pouch from midway down the pouch to the bottom of the pouch. The unattached edges of the fly access edges are finished with a stitched fold of the fabric and here too a small elastic band strip is sewn into the seam.
Special Features or Area’s of Note
The “Cool Zone” and “Glide Zone are the 2 sections that use a micro-mesh version of the bamboo fabric. This fabric is silkier than the solid version and is permeated with micro dot holes. The product info tag is imprinted on the inside center rear of the underwear.
Out On The Range
Field Test Comments: Chill Boys bamboo boxer briefs have been out on the range for about 75 hours of wear running heavy equipment at work and outdoor work at home. Its been through 5 laundry cycles.
About The Feel and Comfort
Both versions of the bamboo fabric are very smooth and soft on the skin, although the mesh version is a little silkier. The legs, pouch and waistband are all comfortable. The waistband has a smooth but snug finish. Even though this boxer brief sports a 7.5 inch leg length in coverage it still feels light and airy.
About The Fit
The waistband has a great fit with the thick and wide elastic material that rides on the body about mid-waist. The legs fit well, snug with no restrictions. The pouch is a good fit with the added 3D contouring which provides plenty of room for the guys. It all has a nice soft, form fitting wear.
About The Performance
The fabric is very breathable and moisture wicking, especially the “Cool” and “Glide” zones. The added spandex in the fabric and elastic bands in the seam work, gives this underwear very flexible properties that move nicely with the body. I have not experienced any chaffing or rub points. No hair pulling or pinching. There was a little ride up in the legs but that is usually expected in underwear with any leg length as I get thrashed around in the seat of my equipment. The pouch does provide good support and separation for a boxer brief, so there is a little lift with a minimal bulge effect. Great performance overall.
About The Quality
The seam work and stitching has nice clean lines and no loose threads hanging about or knots at any of the seam intersections or termination points. There is not pilling or color fade showing. The underwear still maintains it’s out of the box shape. Over all it appears this underwear is made well with quality in mind.
About The Design and Construction
Chill Boys provides a from fitting shape and style boxer brief with full thigh coverage. A great fabric and waistband material are used in its construction. The 3D contoured added feature to pouch is a very nice upgrade to the traditional style of the fly access pouch. Including elastic banding in the seam work adds to the underwear’s ability to avoid uncomfortable restrictions but remain form fitting.

So What’s The Word
Chill Boys has a top performer with these boxer briefs. Well designed with quality work. I know they advertise them as a “Luxury” underwear but, I can say these boxer briefs are very work friendly and also perform well for those pesky physical workouts. Yes the “Cool Zone” and “No Chaffing Glide Zone” features do work. Currently priced at $25/pair at the Chill boys online store. Affordable?, maybe. I guess you have to ask yourself ” What is all day comfort worth to me”. They do offer a military and 10% First Time Customer discount.
