Bulge Envy Jock – Modal, by McKillop

Here is the Bulge Envy Jockstrap with the Bespoke Custom Pouch option – P5 (Bounce).

Being of the jockstrap style underwear, the only coverage it provides (except for the waistband and leg straps) is a pouch that provides full coverage to the genitals and front pelvic area.

It only uses a couple pieces of the modal/Lycra fabric to make the pouch. Two halves (a left and right side) sewn together down the center of the pouch. This seam also has a strip of elastic banding sewn inside. This gives it a “V” shaped front profile view that provides coverage of the pelvis and genitals. The outer edges of the pouch are hemmed with a fabric covered inseam. Inside the inseam, there is a strip of elastic banding sewn.

The Pouch has an extreme outward 3D contoured shape that is obtained by:

  • The shaped cut of the fabric pieces
  • The elasticity built into the fabric itself
  • The addition of the elastic banding sewn inside the seam and outer inseams.

Mckillop’s pouch options and descriptions:

The pouch is attached to the signature McKillop 1.5-inch wide waistband with multiple lines of stitching. It has 0.75-inch wide leg straps akin to the waistband material. It’s one piece of elastic band. The ends are attached to the waistband at the side of the hips. The center point is attached to the bottom of the pouch. The strap is folded over in a ‘V’ and the tip of the ‘V’ is stitched to the pouch. The product tag is sewn on the inside rear of the waistband and I don’t recommend trying to remove it.

Field Test

I’ve had the Bulge Envy jock out on the range 5 times for about 54 hours of wear time. This one came up on the wear schedule during my winter layoff from work. There aren’t any hours logged in while running heavy equipment. Most of the hours were from working in and on my woodworking shop on various projects. I did have one day logged of wear during a Disney vacation. I logged in 6.3 miles of walking, rides and various attractions. If you’ve experienced large theme parks then you know what a workout it can be. It’s a great place to test if your underwear can handle the trek.

The Scores

The Bulge Envy Jock had exceptional performance and comfort during my trials. The fabric is very soft, breathable and moisture wicking. The Mckillop waistband is sturdy, snug and stays flat all day with its low-rise fit on the waist. The P-5 Bounce pouch option is very supportive. It provides total separation of the genitals from any skin-to-skin contact with the legs. The P5- Bounce pouch’s design does provide a shape that carries the genitals with a little bounce. This design still lifts them forward. So, there is still a significant bulge effect. Everything fits well. The cut, pouch option, and waist size are spot on with the size guide for a large. There have been a few loose threads in the stitching that secures the fabric to the waistband. There’s also a little pilling on the front of the pouch. Other than that, the jock still maintains its out of the box shape. I would be comfortable wearing this jockstrap design everyday for any activity. I love the way it carries things. I know a minimal coverage underwear is not everyone’s cup of tea. You really have to try this jockstrap. You may get converted. Now running about $21 bucks a pair on the Mckillop online store. I don’t have a discount code to pass along at this time but they do have sales and discounts. Remember to check out the pouch design options and sizing before you order.

Until next time.. Always start your day with a fresh clean pair and be safe out there!
