Out of The Box
The Microfiber Boxer Brief is made of a blended material of 95% Bamboo and 5% spandex. It has a 2-way stretch property that scored a 1.5 inches on the stretch test. The material is very thin and light. The thin weave is a little see-through especially when stretched. The underwear is made up of multiple sections which consist of:
- 2- pieces cut to cover each leg from front to rear
- 1- piece to cover the seat
- 1- piece to make a gusset that ties the inner legs, bottom of seat and pouch together.
- 4-pieces to make the pouch
Flat lock stitching is used to piece together all the sections except for the center seam down the middle of the pouch sections, where an over edge stitch is used. It appears that they may have also used a small strip of elastic banding material that is sewn into the flat lock stitched seams. The product “Tag” is imprinted on the inside rear of the underwear.

The Waistband

The waistband is made of a single 1.25 inch wide elastic band material that is embroidered with the Bamboo Sports name. The band is joined in the center rear with an end-to-end stitch. It is attached to the top of the underwear with a multi line straight stitch.
The Legs

The legs are about 4 inches in length and are hemmed at the bottom with a stitched fold of the bamboo material. Here too, I think there is a strip of elastic band material included in the stitched seam.
The Pouch

The pouch is constructed much like a traditional pouch in an overlapping style with fly access. So the pouch is double layered with each layer made of 2 pieces that are joined down the center with an over edge seam. On the inner layer this over edge seam is on the revers side of the fabric so that it isnt against the skin. The un-attached edges of these sections where the flap access is located are hemmed with a flat fold of the material and are double lined stitched. Again I believe there is a strip of elastic band material included in this seam.

Out On The Range

Field Test Comments: So I’ve logged about 70 hours on the testing range in this underwear. Most of the activities were operating heavy equipment and the 2 hour commute to the job. Some morning workouts or evening walks.
About The Feel and Comfort

The Bamboo fabric is very soft and light on the skin and at times, you forget your wearing underwear. The waistband elastic material is soft and smooth.
About The Fit

The waistband is mid-rise on the waist. This one is sized as a large and fits me as it should. The elastic material has enough elasticity to keep it snug and in place but doesn’t cut in. The legs fit very well with a mid thigh coverage with no restrictions. The pouch is more of a traditional fit with some 3D contouring that provides adequate room for the package. Overall the underwear gives a from-fitting wear without compression.
About The Performance

The bamboo fabric is very breathable and moisture wicking that makes for a cool wear. The blended spandex is very flexible and moves very well with the body. I haven’t had any chaffing or rub points and no fabric pinching or hair pulling. There has been no roll-over or sagging in the waistband. There is a little ride up in the legs when I am being jostled around in my equipment set. The pouch provides adequate support and separation from the legs and provides minimal bulge effect. The underwear performs well especially in the heat.
About The Quality

The seam and stitch work lack a little quality control and appear the be done in a rush. There seams lines are a little irregular and the stitching uneven. There are spots where the fabrics edges stick out of the seam work and places where the stitching skipped or missed. There were several loose or hanging threads. There is a little pilling especially where the fabric rubs on outer clothing, like at the front of the pouch and gusset area. The fabric has faded just a tad since removal from the box. The boxer brief has retained its original shape with no areas of fabric distortion.
About the Design and Construction

This Boxer brief has a nice shape and cut with well placed seam locations to avoid discomfort. The fabric choice is comfortable and stretchy with a nice wide waistband that is smooth. The pouch is satisfactory. The added strips of elastic banding in the seams help the design with its from-fitting quality. Overall I liked the fit and coverage of the design.
