Details

The Fireworks Lift Brief is made out of a blended fabric of 95% bamboo and 5% elestane. The underwear is constructed of two sections of this one material. One section covering the sides and rear and the other as the pouch. It’s combined with a combination of over edge and crossover stitched seams at the bottom of the pouch and up the sides of the pouch. (Photo 2) The material is a 2-way stretch. The waist is listed as low-rise but fit me as a mid-rise. The waistband is an elastic material attached to the exterior top of the main underwear fabric. It’s an inch and a half wide with the Rounderbum logo and exploding fireworks pattern woven within the waistband material.

The leg holes are a stitched stretchy inseam. The leg sides ride high on the thighs to the hips. (photo 1&3)

The underwear has a design feature “Lift Tech” which are elastic straps sewn into the inside of the underwear. They are attached near the top of the pouch and run just above the leg inseam around to the back and down to attach to the bottom of the pouch. (Similar to the straps of a jockstrap). Its described as a design to provide defining lift in the rear. (the straps can be seen in photos 1,2,4,5, & 6)

The pouch is a single external pouch with an anatomical shape. (Photo 6). It’s constructed with (what appears) two pieces of the bamboo/elastane material that has a stitched seam down the middle to shape the pouch. It could be one piece but the center seam is stitched so neatly and tight, I can’t tell. The pouch is lined with a second layer of the same fabric and has what appears to be a vent hole in the top of the inner layer. (Photo 7).

The underwear has no access fly.

The underwear comes with a product tag sewn inside on the waistband but was easily removed. The tag information is also imprinted on the inside back of briefs. (Photo 8)

On The Range

Initial Test on the Range
Testing Range Dates

I have had the Fireworks briefs on the range 4 times now. First time out on the range was 03/08/2022.

I have been on multiple types of equipment and on steep and rocky terrain. Working 10 hour days and traveling 80+ miles one way to job site. Lots of butt in the seat time. The weather and temps were varied (usual spring weather).

Review

Fabric

The bamboo/elastane fabric is very soft and smooth against the skin. The elastane makes in very stretchy. Its somewhat thin but not translucent thin. You can only see through it if held up to light. It feels like a strong material with good stitching. Its very breathable and moisture wicking. I felt no chafing, bunching (no legs), or wedgie problems. The underwear is form fitting and it maintained its shape at the end of the day so far.

Waistband

The waistband is very comfortable and wide, 1-1/2 inches wide. Its smooth and dose not cut in. Its a good quality and I didn’t experience and roll over or wrinkling. It stays in place with no plumbers crack. They did come with a tag sewn on the waistband but it was easily removed.

The legs are more or less just holes. (Briefs!) The leg inseams are stitched folds of the bamboo material and are very comfortable and do not cut in. The added “Lift Tech” straps are a nice touch. It feels just like jockstraps. They are about 1 inch wide. They do provide lift and also added support to the pouch. Since their briefs I had no problem with the leg material riding up or bunching.

Pouch

The pouch is very comfortable and of a nice size. I felt no squashing or pinching. Its more of an anatomical shape that lets the genitals rest in a more natural state, but with a nice snug and form fitting support. It keeps the genitals separate form the legs very well. There is a bulge effect but its not extreme due to the anatomical shape (less lift). The stitching and seams are well done and do not rub or chafe. The straps of the “Lift Tech” design provides additional support and separation performance of the pouch even if was not it’s intended design.

Overall

I found the Fireworks Briefs very comfortable. I haven’t wore briefs underwear for many years, mostly when I was jogging or during workouts back in the day. The bamboo is a really comfortable fabric. The shape and cut of the underwear is a nice style and fit well. They move very well with my physical activities and all the riding. They kept me well supported and provided great separation limiting the sticky skin to skin contact. I didn’t have any uncomfortable rubbing, pinching or pulling of body hair from the seams or fabric. No swamp butt from the seat time. It is a warm weather underwear unless your in a heated environment or very limited exposure to cold temperatures. So far they appear to be durable an of good quality. I haven’t seen any loose threads or signs of fading or fabric stress. Theses briefs are listed for $20.30 on their online store. With the 10 pair for a year formula, that would be about $200 bucks to stock you drawer. So its in the Ok range for affordability. Of note, is the listed size. I have a 36 inch waist and normally wear a Large in US sizes. I tried these in an Extra large and they fit perfectly, so if your waist is larger than 36 inches they may not fit and they only list XL as the largest size available in all their underwear as of this posting.

Range Results

The Rounderbum Fireworks Lift Briefs are a nice addition to the underwear drawer. The bamboo fabric performs great during physical activities and is very supportive. Rounderbum doesn’t describe its Fireworks briefs as having an anatomical pouch but, it does. I telling ya this pouch concept is really a nice feature for underwear. When the temps go up and your looking for something a little cooler and don’t mind less leg coverage, these are a great choice. We can only hope they expand the use of the bamboo fabric in more of their designs and I won’t object if they were to offer these briefs in other colors. Rounderbum list these as a special collection so they may not be always available. They do have other briefs, styles and fabrics to offer and some are out on the testing range now. Give them a look see at Rounderbum. As always if they provided any promotion codes or deals, I will pass them along. Keep an eye out for special deals and sales otherwise.
